Tamiya Fighter Buggy RX

pict65.jpg

Testers Kit

After browsing through the Tamiya r/c guide book my brother decided he wanted a off road buggy.  He didn't have much money and wanted something strong and reliable so he purchased the Tamiya fighter buggy from our local toy shop.
Standard acoms radio gear all round and Tamiya (sanyo) 1400SP 7.2v battery.

What's in the box?

As usual for Tamiya The box art is very good and well illustrated. As you open the box you are greeted by separate boxes and compartments.  Underneath the boxes you find the instructions and stickers.

The instructions

The instructions are very good and clear with good diagrams as usual for Tamiya. The instructions include troubleshooting, parts, painting and applying decals, and running your r/c
car.

The chassis:

The chassis is very strong and durable.

Painting

No painting is required on the body.  Just stick on the colourful stickers provided.  The driver will need painting if you decide to put him in.

Modifications

First the original mechanical speed control was exchanged fro the LRP Runner.  Then the coil over spring suspension was swapped for some spare Traxxas ones.

How well does it go then?

This is a very fast buggy and is great for going over jumps and it has excellent grip with the spiked tires.  This buggy will survive any crash or jump and come back for more.  The 2WD lets down the acceleration and grip but otherwise its a fun basher truck!
